Interim Commercial Contracts Counsel – indeed jobs

Major, Lindsey u0026amp; Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for a 9-12 Month Commercial Contracts Counsel (20-30 hours per week) to cover for an influx in work.

 

Overview: Major, Lindsey u0026amp; Africa is seeking a Commercial Contracts Counsel with 5-7+ years of experience in General Commercial Contracts.

 

Company: A global book publisher.

 

Experience: At least 5-7+ years of experience in Commercial Contracts with experience in Audiobooks, Publishing or Media.

 

Location: REMOTE. NYC Metropolitan Area or Tennessee required.

 

Responsibilities Include:

Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiating skills for Commercial agreements: The ideal candidate must have extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including software licenses, web-based services, and other technology-related agreements.

Extensive experience drafting and negotiating various other types of commercial contracts, including other customer documentation, procurement agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, data protection, and other commercial agreements.

Identify risk issues related to commercial agreements and provide practical, responsive advice to facilitate timely resolution. They must be able to balance intense commercial imperatives with the protection of the long-term corporate risk profile.

Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills are required to articulate and defend company positions effectively, prepare clear and efficient redlines, and bring agreements to closure. Superior command of the English language (both written and spoken) is essential.

Anticipate and respond to problems as a strategic partner and provide innovative legal solutions to support sales and other business teams, including shared services groups based in different regions globally.

Manage multiple negotiations and manage contract review pipeline, effectively prioritizing issue escalation and resolution, as well as manage numerous complex projects simultaneously under tight deadline pressure.

Excellent business judgment and be able to balance legal risks with commercial goals. They must have the ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams and have a flexible approach to working on a wide variety of legal matters.

 

Qualifications Include:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

Membership in good standing of a state bar association as an attorney qualified to practice law in that state. New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or Tennessee preferred.

Experience in Media, Publishing, Audio, Distribution, or Languages/ Education ideal.

Experience working with Pimsleur is ideal.

A minimum of 5 years legal experience as in-house counsel or related law firm practice

Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and corporate transactional

Excellent judgment and business acumen

Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve

Ability to relate and work well with people of many cultures, disciplines, and levels of experience

Excellent oral/written communication skills

Strong analytical review and research skills
